Research Activities

The research of Prof. DeWeerth and his group at the Georgia Institute of Technology focused on the development of neural prosthetics and wearable robotic systems that augment the closed-loop control and optimization of human and animal movement, particularly rhythmic movements (e.g. locomotion). They created and implemented real-time models of the neural sensorimotor systems that generate and modulate these movements, and fabricate interfacing technology for stimulating and recording from neural tissue and muscles.
